16A –What’s Your Secret Sauce?

Now you may disagree with me but who cares? Yes, I am sure there are things that make me unique, but who gives a flying flower? If I was a successful entrepreneur, millionaire at 23, super accomplished or something to that effect - then yes, let me tell you about these unique aspects of mine that turned me into an outlier. But I am just a college student trying to make it through the semester. I believe that when you are working super hard to become an outlier, you need to be constantly reminded by yourself and others about how much you need to improve still. Not how great you are, because you are simply not great! (yet)!!!

How can you be so unique if your life/work/results are mediocre? Feeling special is normal to all humans, but rather misleading, illusory. I believe that you first need to create something unique in this world, then you can talk about you being unique.

I know I went to an extreme here, but does that make sense to you? I would love to hear your thoughts about it. I feel like people sugar coat too much these days. Why do we not humbly put our heads down, tirelessly work on our goals, and then, one day when we become unique, openly talk about being unique.

Also, would you be interested in knowing how beautifully unique my friends think I am? Of course not.

Here is the beginning of a presentation that I did to Dr. Daniel Tenen, a famous cancer scientist. I start to talk for 20 seconds and the rest is him absolutely killing me. It was one hour of massacre. He certainly did not think I was unique. So I prefer to focus on that in order to improve. My sincere apologies for not doing all 5 interviews like I was supposed to do.

Maybe I am wrong? If you disagree, please let me know :)
